Revise text for its reader
I can use AI to adapt text to a reader’s needs while preserving its meaning and facts.
Communication and creative work
What this means
Describe the reader and their needs, request a named change such as clearer structure, a different tone, or a shorter version, and compare the new version with the original.
Why this matters
AI can easily change tone, length, and structure. A number, name, date, or request can also change unnoticed, even though it may determine whether the text works.
How to recognize this skill
- 01Name the reader and their needs before revising.
- 02Request a specific change, such as structure, tone, length, or plain language.
- 03Check that the core message, request, numbers, names, and dates are preserved.
This does not yet demonstrate the skill
- Changing the tone without comparing the versions with the original.
- Running an automatic readability check without reviewing the content.
