Write a clear prompt
I can write an AI prompt that states the task, relevant context, desired format, and checkable limits.
Prompts and guidance
What this means
Shape a prompt so it shows what AI should do, what it needs to know about the situation, what form the answer should take, and what boundaries it must follow.
Why this matters
A vague prompt produces a generic answer that is hard to assess. When the task, context, format, and limits are visible, you know what to check in the response.
How to recognize this skill
- 01State clearly what AI should do.
- 02Provide context needed for the task, and leave out what is not needed.
- 03Specify the answer format, such as length, structure, or audience.
- 04Set at least one limit that can be checked in the answer, such as which material it may use or what it must not add.
This does not yet demonstrate the skill
- Copying a ready-made prompt without adapting it to your situation.
- Writing a long prompt in which the task is hard to find.
