Use AI to support a decision
I can ask AI to lay out options and trade-offs, then make the decision on my own grounds.
Judgement and responsibility
What this means
Ask AI to list options, their differences, and factors that matter to the decision. Add information about your situation that AI cannot know, then write down your decision and your own reasons.
Why this matters
AI can make a case fluently, but it does not know your values, constraints, or the consequences of the decision. Seeing the options and reasons lets you benefit from its perspective while keeping the decision yours.
How to recognize this skill
- 01Ask for options, their differences, or factors to weigh before requesting a recommendation.
- 02Name at least one factor affecting the decision that AI cannot know about your situation.
- 03Write your decision and reasons in your own words, separately from AI’s suggestion.
This does not yet demonstrate the skill
- Accepting AI’s recommendation as is.
- Saying the decision is yours without recording your reasons.
