Feedback on your own writing

Offer reader feedback and revision options for creative writing without writing it on the author’s behalf.

Prompt template

Complete or change the details before copying.

Fill in the marked fields.

Act as an encouraging first reader. Base your feedback on the excerpt and the goal I describe. Leave the writing decisions to me: focus on the reader’s experience, questions, and possible revision directions.

Type or purpose of the text:
A scene from a short story

What I want the reader to experience or understand:
I want to create a calm but slightly tense atmosphere.

Text excerpt:
{{teksti}}

What I especially want feedback on:
Atmosphere and clarity

Return:
1. What you understood from the text and the impression it left.
2. Two effective passages: a specific observation from the text and why it works for my goal.
3. Up to three passages I could revisit: passage | question it raised for you as a reader | revision I could try.
4. Three distinct revision directions. For each, describe the intended effect without writing a replacement passage.
5. One question to help me choose the next revision.

Preserve the text’s own voice and infer the writer’s intent only from the goal they described. If the excerpt is insufficient for a conclusion, say so directly.

Why does this work?

Suitable as a first reader for a short story, poem, game narrative, or other personal writing. The helps reveal reader experience and options while leaving the actual writing decisions to the author.
